Bogusław Fleck

Boguslaw Fleck was born in 1956 in Sopot. He is a graduate of the Berlin Hochschule der Künste (Department of Visual Communication and Industrial Forms). He has lived in Berlin since 1980. Since obtaining his diploma, he has professionally pursued applied projects as a graphic designer, while at the same time exploring various techniques of artistic expression all the time. In the sphere of art, he engages pro publico bono, as the curator of the “Gallery of the University of Three Generations” exhibitions, a series of monthly vernissages in the historic interiors of the Humboldt University in Berlin, promoting Polish artists working in Germany. The artist’s latest fascination is painting on canvas. Professional experience, related to the possibilities of expression and form offered by computer programs in today’s era, gained for commercial graphic works, inspired the artist to different forms of expression than before. Spontaneous and experimental computer attempts, over time, became thoughtful, controlled artistic activities, aiming at maximum simplification of form, elimination of unnecessary elements and full rendering of the intended composition. The result, over the years, was a series of paintings called “Transparency of Things,” precisely refined with the help of computer programs and then transferred to canvas.
